Sharon was born in Port Elizabeth and raised in Durban and studied at the old Technikon Natal. She is a registered Professional Senior Architectural Technologist and has run her own practice in Kloof since 1999. She has been a long-standing member of SAIAT and an active National Committee member since 2009.

She is married to Marcel, a fellow National Committee member and they have two adult sons. Keeping Architecture and creativity in the family, her eldest son lives in Dublin, where he also works as an Architectural Technologist and her younger son is a Graphic Designer.

In her free time, she enjoys working in the garden, reading, camping, and face timing her granddaughter Kaya, in Dublin.

In addition to being a National Committee member, she also heads up the KZN Region and Durban Chapter.
